CONTENT WARNINGS: death, existentialism, very frank and direct discussion of suicide ideation, body horror, and general fantasy violence

You have a lot of questions when you wake up washed onto the shore of a strange beach without any knowledge of who you are. Thankfully, you're not alone and are taken in by an eclectic band of strangers who were all in your shoes once before. They refer to themselves as "Echos"- beings born out of the collective human unconscious who live an existence parallel to the material world. They are able to perceive and be affected by humankind's actions, but they can never truly be a part of the "real" world

Just when you've started to get used to your new life, an unforseen enemy threatens not only the Echos' way of life, but the fate of the entire world as well. In your quest to save your new family, you're confronted with the grim possibility that perhaps the kindest thing you can do is to let them, and everything else in existence, die.

[In development since November 2021. Intended to be a video game with relationship-building mechanics.]

WORLD

THE VEIL

While humans exist in the normal material world, the Echos live in a dimension parallel to mankind that lies behind an incorporeal barrier they call "The Veil". The Echos are capable of crossing The Veil for short bursts of times. Even then, they are limited in the ways and extent to which they can interact with humans. The otherwordly powers the Echos possess are noticably weaker on that side of The Veil as well.

The Echos' side of The Veil is a vast, euclidian expanse. Each of the Echos have their own pockets in this dreamscape that they've carved out as their own personal realms they call home.

THE ECHOS

The Echos themselves are immortal beings born into existance fully-formed. None of them are sure what the purpose of their existence is- as they seem cursed to watch a world they cannot interact with. That is why they refer to themselves as Echos instead of gods or some other known supernatural beings. Like an echo, they think of themselves as a reverberation of some aspect of the collective human consciousness. They do not create the world but rather are an abstract reflection of it.
